Event Description

Mark your calendars for the annual Black History Month Celebration, grant-funded by the Lawrence Township Education Association and hosted by the LHS Arts & Humanities Academy, 

This year's event is titled, "Black Resilience: Upward and Onward," and will boast an array of moving performances and tributes by students, faculty, and special guests!

Guests can "shop til they drop" from over a dozen black business vendors, taste cultural dishes, and take a visual and musical journey through black history. 

LHS will also honor local and state residents with its Trailblazer Awards, and the evening will feature an inspiring and stirring keynote address.

Donations will be graciously accepted for future Black History Celebration events.

Black History Month is an annual observance in February that celebrates the achievements and contributions of African Americans to American history, culture, and society. Established in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson; Black History Month reflects on the struggles, highlights the triumphs, and provides inspiration to future generations.
