Event Description

Enjoy a delicious soul food tasting, courtesy of NAACP members, and a dynamic performance by the Toms River High School North N'Step Team. Be on the lookout as there will be giveaways and other surprises throughout the event.

The highlight of the celebration will be Dreamweaver: The Works of Langston Hughes, a performance by actor David Mills. Mills will bring to life Hughes' iconic characters from poems and short stories, showcasing the beauty and complexity of Harlem, its people, and their experiences.

Mills, an actor and writer, has been performing the works of Langston Hughes for over two decades. His remarkable career includes fellowships, grants, and residencies, and his poetry has been widely published. Mills has even lived in Langston Hughes' Harlem home and received the Langston Hughes Society Award.
