Event Description

Enjoy an evening of joyful and contemplative Brazilian jazz with singer and percussion master Nanny Assis.

Rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions, Nanny Assis' artistry uplifts listeners of every generation.

He has performed with renowned artists such as Vinicius Cantauria, Eumir Deodato, and John Patitucci, mastering many styles of Brazilian music, including samba, the music of Bahia, Brazilian jazz, Afro-Brazilian music, and other popular and folkloric sounds.

He will be joined by his son, Dani Assis, winner of the prestigious 2024 Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition.

The evening will open with the Ampersand Jazz Quartet, featuring bassist Kai Gibson, a 2017 Princeton High School and 2021 Berklee College of Music graduate.
