Event Description

This PBS documentary explores the history and personal experiences of African Americans on the road, starting from the arrival of automobiles through the seismic changes of the 1960s and beyond. 

Driving While Black discusses the background of a phrase rooted in realities that have been a part of the African American experience for hundreds of years.

Established in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson; Black History Month reflects on the struggles, highlights the triumphs, and provides inspiration to future generations.
