Event Description

Explore the 13 Guiding Principles of the Black Lives Matter, delving into its 2013 inception by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. This important movement is often misunderstood and mischaracterized. In this workshop we will learn about the principles and images that guide the mission to empower local initiatives, counter violence, and foster Black creativity and joy.

Established in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson; Black History Month reflects on the struggles, highlights the triumphs, and provides inspiration to future generations.
