Event Description

What could be healthier than starting the New Year with a beautiful walk in nature with others? Join our First Day Hike tradition. The hike will be approximately 5-6 milles depending on weather and trail conditions that day. 

Make sure to dress warm and wrap-up. After we will celebrate at a local spot (TBD) in Summit, NJ near the train station for convenience.

Important: If you are registering for multiple guests please complete the forms with their names. If your plans change you can easily cancel your registration as well... much thanks.

Tranportation: NJ Midtown Direct train to Summit leaves NY Penn at 10:11 am. Carpool offered from the station if arranged in advance. Free parking at Trailside Science Museum as well.

Preparation: HIking shoes, hiking poles suggested (have a few to lend), layered clothing. Pack a lunch/snack and water.

Bathrooms: available at the start and midway along the trail.

Difficulty: Moderate, with some hilly and rocky trails. We will stay together!
