Event Description
Watch a documentary film featuring contemporary, ground-breaking Black women photographers, directed by Crystal Whaley.
The film reveals the history and struggle of Black women photographers while celebrating their work and answering the question:
What happens when a female black photographer exercises agency and control to reverse the gaze, allowing the world to be seen through her unique lens?
The featured photographers challenge the status quo by collectively redefining the narrative, image by image.
NJ Proudly Celebrates Women's History Month
Women's History Month is an annual observance in March that honors the achievements, leadership, and lasting impact of women throughout history. New Jersey recognizes the vital role women have played in shaping all aspects of society, including politics, science, the arts, education, and social justice. It is a time to reflect on past struggles, celebrate progress, and inspire future generations.
