Celebrate freedom, history, and heritage at a vibrant, family-friendly gathering filled with live performances, creative expression, and community connection.
Enjoy performances from the SSAAM Heritage Singers and Band, spoken word artists, vocalist and storyteller Keith Spencer, and Luna Stage's The Ground On Which We Stand.
Join an all-ages drum circle with Mr. Boom Boom, listen at the read-aloud story corner, and take part in museum scavenger hunts or record reflections in the story booth.
Browse local artisan goods at the marketplace and take part in the launch of the Little Free Library of Banned Books.
Explore the featured exhibit The Head That Wears the Crown, showcasing the beauty and symbolism of African American women's headwear with vintage portraits and striking displays.
Guided tours of the historic church and heritage garden will also be available throughout the day.
