Event Description

New Jersey was a vital corridor for the Underground Railroad, allowing enslaved people to escape to safer localities in the North.

New Jersey was also the last northern state to abolish slavery in 1866.

Join author and historian Rick Geffken as he discusses this important topic and his book "Stories of Slavery in New Jersey."
