Event Description

February is a wonderful time of year to seek out various species of waterfowl, as lingering winterers are joined by northbound migrants.

You'll be traveling through coastal and inland areas of Cape May County to find and enjoy a wide range of species, including scoters, mergansers, eiders, and many other ducks. Plus a great array of shorebirds, cormorants and grebes.

At each stop, take time to study various identification clues: plumage, size & shape, flight characteristics, and behavior to help improve your bird identification skills.

This birding break has something to offer birders of all skill and experience levels.

There is no firm daily schedule set in advance, therefore leaving complete flexibility to maximize birding opportunities. Moreover, taking advantage of weather conditions, tides, and recent bird sightings.

Transportation:

  • The walk may be up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain.
  • Some trips involve walks over jetties.

Pre Registration Required.
