General

Is this an annual event?

Yes. In fact, this is our inaugural (first) event. The first produced in 1997 while our founder was attending college.

Can and/or will gift recipients be present at the event?

No, this event is not intended to be a gift distribution event; the event is solely focused on bringing contributors and volunteers together to donate and wrap gift items.

Do I need to pre-register?

Yes. We strongly recommend pre-registering for an accurate headcount for supplies and catering.

Is there an admission fee?

No. The event is totally free. However, we do ask attendees and partners to make a financial donation to offset the cost associated with producing an event of this size. Also for a headcount and planning purposes, we ask that you register ASAP.

Is the event open to everyone?

Yes. We welcome all ages, races, cultures, and creeds to participate.

Is there an event hashtag?

What happens in case of bad weather?

This is an indoor event, so with the exception of a weather advisory and/or extreme circumstances, the show will go on! We will display information on our website, send an announcement via email and SMS, as well as post details via social media in the case of a delay or postponement.

Will I receive reminders or notifications of any event changes?

Benefits of pre-registration are occasional updates and notifications of any major event changes.

Will a First Aid kit be on-site?

Yes. For the safety of our patrons there will be two first aid kits strategically positioned in case of an emergency.

How are QR codes utilized at the event?

We use QR codes as a faster and less error prone method of sharing web destinations. Simply scan the various QR codes displayed throughout our event to get to your desired web destination.

The Experience

What should I wear?

Come as you are. While it's not a requirement, we encourage attendees to wear branded paraphernalia representing their alma mater, employer, organization, or their own brand. For attendees who like to look stylish, you might want to bring comfortable shoes, as you will be on your feet for most of the night.

Can children attend the event?

Yes. In fact, we welcome youth organizations to participate for community service credits/recognition.

Will there be food and beverages? Will it meet my dietary restrictions?

Yes. We always have healthy food and snacks at every event we produce. In particular, we provide vegetarian, vegan, sugar-free, low salt, and gluten-free options.

Does the event have or feature any religious affiliation(s)?

No. This event is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all individuals, regardless of religious affiliation. Our goal is to create a space for open dialogue and connection among attendees from various backgrounds.

Will there be photographers and videographers capturing the event?

Most definitely, We have professional and student content creators on-site to capture every attendee participating in our activities. Any attendee who does not wish to be captured will be required to wear a special name tag to inform our media crew.

Can I bring my own food and/or drinks?

No outside food or drink is permitted.

Will the event feature vendor tables? If so, how can I participate?

Unfortunately, we will not offer vendor tables at this event. We are dedicated to providing the best experience to attendees and partners. We are considering offering vendors next year.

Will there be on-site gift wrapping instructions?

Yes. We will have specialists available to assist with techniques and wrapping styles.

Volunteering

Do you need pre and/or post volunteers for the event?

Yes. The more, the merrier! Please visit our Volunteer Opportunities page to learn more.

Does this event encourage participating in groups?

Yes, group participation is encouraged. We welcome all types of groups, including companies, nonprofits, fraternities/sororities, and faith-based organizations, to name a few.

Do volunteers need to arrive early?

Yes, depending on the role, volunteers are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their shift to set up and receive necessary instructions.

What are the benefits of being a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to give back to the community, meet new people, and receive a special volunteer-only gift.

Is there an age restriction to volunteering?

All volunteers under 18 years old are required to provide consent from their parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Do volunteers receive a specially designated shirt?

Yes, all volunteers will receive a special event shirt to wear during the event to publicly acknowledge their participation.

Gifts / Donations

Is there a list of prohibited gift items?

Yes. Visit the "Naughty List" featured on our Wish List page.

Who will receive the gifts and how will the items be distributed?

Gift recipients will vary in age, gender, geographic locations. We partner with various programs throughout the state to fulfill our mission of being a statewide holiday initiative.

Does your organization accept cash or check donations?

We do not accept cash donations. Print and complete our Postal Mail Donation Form (PDF) if you prefer to make a donation by check.

Can or should I bring my own gift wrapping supplies?

No. You do not need to bring any gift wrapping supplies. We will have more than enough on hand.

Is More Jersey a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?

More Jersey is not a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, while contributions to "Gift Wrapping Social" (a NJ nonprofit corporation) are tax-deductible to the fullest extent provided by law.

Where can I drop off gifts?

Unfortunately, we do not operate any drop-off bins. All gift items must be purchased via our official Amazon Wish Lists or be brought to one of our event locations. We are available to coordinate a pick-up or drop-off if necessary.

Venue

What are the parking accommodations?

Free parking is available within walking distance of the event facility.

Is the venue handicap / wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There is ample handicap parking and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Is there public transportation to the event venue?

Yes. NJ Transit Buses #28 and #11 frequent the event location.

Sponsorship

How do I become a sponsor?

Do you accept in-kind contributions?

Yes. We welcome in-kind contributions. Please use our Partnership Interest Form to start the conversation.
